Prototype Engineering Planner II

This position is part of RTX’s Bike Shop organization, where prototype hardware is fabricated, assembled, and refined for developmental engineering programs. The planner reviews drawings and technical records, creates work instructions, documents as-built configurations, and tracks materials and components throughout the product lifecycle. They also analyze bills of materials, support supplier and purchasing activities, resolve nonconformances, and help keep work aligned with quality, cost, and schedule goals. The role involves close collaboration with engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and potentially customers in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment. It is well suited to a STEM professional with experience in engineering planning, material management, procurement systems, and interpreting technical documentation who can work onsite and hold or obtain the required clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with minimum 2 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experienceProficiency with inventory control, material procurement databases, and BOM analysisExperience with supplier quoting and procurement interface activitiesAbility to interpret engineering drawings and create detailed work instructionsU.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret-level DoD security clearanceStrong collaborative skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
