Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer
This engineer will direct the architecture, design, integration, qualification, and test activities for mechanical hardware supporting a high-priority defense development effort. Working within the Advanced Airframes organization, they will guide engineering teams, manage mechanical risks and hardware anomalies, and help ensure cost, schedule, and technical commitments are met. The position also carries Cost Account Manager responsibilities across multiple contracts, including oversight of earned value baselines and performance reporting. Regular collaboration with government customers, suppliers, manufacturing groups, and functional leaders is central to successful program execution, with occasional travel to labs or field locations. It suits an experienced mechanical or aerospace engineer who is comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams, managing resources, and communicating technical and program status independently in a secure defense environment.
