Sourcing Engineer, ABCD, VR

This engineer partners with mechanical engineering, category management, quality, legal, purchasing, and external manufacturers throughout the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities include supporting sourcing strategies, qualifying suppliers, negotiating component pricing and contract terms, improving costs, managing approved manufacturers, and addressing continuity and capacity risks. The position also helps suppliers and engineering teams apply design-for-manufacturing practices and ensures components are available for development builds and launches. It is suited to a technically minded sourcing professional who can manage several cross-functional initiatives, communicate across disciplines and cultures, and influence decisions without direct authority. Experience with new product introduction, mechanical commodities, and high-mix procurement environments would be advantageous.
