Senior Embedded Software Engineer

This engineer will architect, implement, test, debug, and deploy embedded software across heterogeneous systems containing processors, firmware, and hardware. The position sits in Raytheon’s Effectors Center and supports reliable, time-sensitive avionics products using Agile or Lean development practices. The engineer will collaborate with product owners, chief engineers, hardware and firmware specialists, and program leadership to improve system functionality, testability, and quality. Responsibilities include contributing to design reviews and proposals while guiding and developing less experienced engineers. This opportunity suits an experienced embedded developer with strong C++ or software architecture skills, RTOS experience, and an interest in safety-critical aerospace and defense systems. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance are required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field plus minimum 5 years embedded software experienceProficiency in Embedded C++ and experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)Expertise in software architecture design or embedded security practicesExperience developing complex integrated hardware-firmware-software systemsActive or ability to obtain interim Secret-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship requiredFamiliarity with electrical schematics, firmware languages (VHDL/Verilog), or lab instrumentation preferred
