Lead Systems Engineer (P5)

This position sits within the Effectors Center and supports Coyote programs serving Army and Navy customers across development, manufacturing, and sustainment activities. The engineer will help protect system technical integrity, translate customer needs into executable engineering direction, and coordinate architecture, analysis, integration, verification, qualification, and production work. The role includes direct interaction with government customers, suppliers, contractors, industry partners, and internal leadership, as well as participation in quality and continuous-improvement activities. It is well suited to an experienced defense systems engineer who has led cross-functional teams, understands electronics and air or land defense products, and can balance technical priorities across complex programs. The position also emphasizes technical mentorship, stakeholder communication, and disciplined execution in a secure onsite environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field and at least 10 years of relevant experienceExperience leading the full systems engineering lifecycleExperience directing cross-functional, multidisciplinary engineering teamsDefense-industry experience with electronics production and testingActive DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship requiredStrong communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder-management skills
