Principal Reliability Engineer

This position is part of RTX’s Lifecycle Engineering organization, which supports product safety, reliability, maintainability, and long-term customer support. The engineer will lead reliability activities such as FMECA, reliability prediction, environmental stress screening, derating, accelerated testing, and failure reporting and corrective action. They will contribute to system design decisions, review engineering documentation, and ensure work aligns with applicable standards. The role also includes mentoring less-experienced engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and functional leaders. It is well suited to an experienced reliability professional who can provide technical leadership, communicate effectively, and work in a defense environment requiring a U.S. security clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with minimum 8 years of relevant reliability engineering experienceExpertise in FMECA, reliability predictions, ESS, derating, and FRACAS methodologiesActive and transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teamsStrong written and oral communication skills with technical documentation review capabilityExperience with MS Office tools and ability to develop engineering briefing materials
