Controls Field Engineer

This field-based engineer serves as a regional technical resource for the health, reliability, and operational support of electrical and mechanical control systems. Responsibilities include reviewing alarms, diagnosing issues across devices, networks, and software, implementing approved system changes, and preserving configurations and access controls. The engineer also supports commissioning, cutovers, equipment integration, point checks, graphics validation, and updates to as-built records and operating procedures. Working with controls, site operations, electrical, mechanical, and IT personnel, the role helps ensure system hierarchies and monitoring accurately reflect facility infrastructure. It suits a hands-on controls professional who is comfortable in 24/7 critical environments, communicates well across teams, documents carefully, and can travel regionally and participate in on-call coverage.

Requirements

4–6+ years in industrial controls, facilities automation, or mission-critical environmentsHands-on EPMS, BMS, or BAS support experienceAbility to troubleshoot controls software, networks, and field devicesExperience reading electrical one-lines, schematics, and control drawingsCommissioning or startup experience preferredUp to 25% regional travel and participation in on-call rotations
