As a Network Engineer Principal Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of classified network infrastructure supporting defense operations at RTX/Raytheon facilities in Tucson. Your focus will span planning network architecture, configuring Cisco equipment and firewalls, managing network management platforms like SolarWinds, and ensuring compliance with government security standards. This role requires deep technical expertise in network hardware and software, strong documentation practices, and the ability to mentor junior team members while coordinating with program engineers and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of network engineering experience, hands-on Cisco configuration skills, and existing Secret-level security clearance eligibility. You'll work in a classified environment supporting mission-critical defense programs, making strategic recommendations for network optimization and future growth.

Requirements

Active U.S. Secret security clearance required; U.S. citizenship mandatoryMinimum 5 years network engineering experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systemsHands-on experience with Cisco ISE, 802.1X, SolarWinds, and government network environmentsUniversity degree or equivalent experience; Advanced degree preferred with 3+ years experienceSecurity+ certification within 6 months and CCNA highly desired within 1 yearWillingness to work outside normal hours and travel domestically as needed
