Senior Engineering Program Manager II - New Ventures

This position serves as the central execution leader for Axon’s autonomous public safety hardware programs, connecting engineering, firmware, testing, manufacturing, supply chain, certification, and product launch activities. Reporting to the PMO Director, the program manager will take over an active, high-complexity initiative and establish control through integrated scheduling, phase gates, configuration management, risk analysis, and decision governance. The role also manages contract manufacturers and supplier performance across international sites, including build readiness, PCB/PCBA quality, factory execution, and procurement alignment. It requires frequent communication with senior executives and the ability to turn technical uncertainty into clear decisions, tradeoffs, and mitigation plans. This opportunity suits an experienced hardware program professional who has delivered multidisciplinary products from prototype through scaled production and can operate decisively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Requirements

10+ years of engineering program management in hardware product development (aerospace, defense, robotics, automotive, medical devices, or complex consumer electronics)Track record delivering complex multi-disciplinary hardware products from prototype through mass production (10K+ units) managing cross-functional interdependencies across hardware, firmware, test, manufacturing, and supply chainDirect experience managing contract manufacturers in Asia with on-site build oversight and supplier quality managementExpertise in Integrated Master Schedule ownership, risk management (FMEA, quantitative scoring, risk registers), and phase gate processes with evidence-based readiness argumentsDeep understanding of PCB/PCBA manufacturing, supply chain optimization, yield management, and supplier corrective action processesStrong technical foundation to read schematics, understand mechanical tolerances, and engage credibly with hardware engineering disciplines
