Principal Real-time Software Engineer

This engineer will architect, implement, test, debug, and deploy safety- and mission-critical embedded software within cross-functional Integrated Product Teams supporting Raytheon’s Effectors Center. The work spans hardware, firmware, operating systems, device drivers, and control functions for autonomous aerospace and defense platforms. The position also involves shaping system concepts, improving testability and measurable quality, supporting technical reviews and proposals, and mentoring less experienced engineers. It suits a senior embedded developer with substantial experience integrating software across complex hardware-based systems and working in Agile or Lean environments. Candidates should be comfortable with real-time constraints, embedded C++, RTOS platforms, and security-focused defense programs, and must already hold an active transferable Secret clearance.
