Thermal Analysis Section Leader

This onsite Tucson position leads thermal analysis activities supporting the mechanical integrity of Raytheon products from development through field support. The successful candidate may direct analysis or test teams, improve department tools and processes, support staffing and proposals, and mentor engineers through performance and career discussions. They will also conduct detailed thermal and structural analyses, perform hand calculations and peer reviews, document findings, and present results to internal and external customers. The work sits within a large multidisciplinary Mechanical Analysis and Test department that uses simulation, testing, and correlation to address complex hardware challenges. It suits an experienced thermal analyst and technical leader who can manage competing priorities, collaborate across engineering disciplines, travel as needed, and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of experience, or 12 years without a degreeAt least 8 years of thermal analysis experienceLeadership experience guiding engineering teams and technical performanceThermal finite element analysis experience using PATRAN, ANSYS, or equivalentKnowledge of classical mechanical and structural analysis methodsActive or transferable U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship
