Director, Supplier Quality Performance Improvement

This leader sets the strategy for improving supplier performance across Raytheon’s external manufacturing network, using data to target the most significant quality risks and recurring failure patterns. The role directs supplier root-cause investigations, corrective actions, process readiness, work transfers, and quality support for new products and production changes. It oversees a geographically dispersed team of quality engineers and specialists while influencing suppliers and internal stakeholders across Supplier Assurance, Operations, Engineering, and Programs. The position suits an experienced aerospace, defense, automotive, or similarly regulated manufacturing leader who can combine technical problem solving with enterprise-level team leadership. Candidates should be comfortable traveling frequently to supplier sites, presenting risks and progress to senior executives, and holding U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance requirement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 14+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 12+ yearsExtensive expertise in supplier quality, structured root-cause analysis, corrective action, containment, and quality systemsExperience in aerospace, defense, or another complex regulated industryProven ability to lead, coach, and develop technical quality teamsStrong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skillsU.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance, with willingness to travel approximately 75%
