This position manages day-to-day production control and materials planning for a Tucson factory within RTX’s Planning and Production Control organization. It evaluates bills of material, inventory, shop capacity, work in progress, and supply demand to keep approved materials moving through production on schedule. The manager also oversees material movement across warehouses, laboratories, production areas, and customers, including the controlled handling of explosive components. Success requires collaboration across engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing, and program teams, as well as participation in lean and continuous-improvement initiatives. It suits an experienced manufacturing or supply-chain leader who is comfortable using MRP/ERP systems, coordinating operational teams, and working in a secure, fully onsite defense environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 yearsBackground in materials planning, production control, scheduling, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or logisticsExperience using MRP or ERP systemsExperience leading daily team operations or comparable leadership activitiesAbility to obtain an interim Secret U.S. government security clearance before starting; U.S. citizenship requiredPreferred experience with lean or Six Sigma improvements, Kanban/SMI/continuous-flow systems, and manufacturing planning
