This engineer joins Raytheon’s Test Equipment Engineering software team, which delivers test systems for engineering laboratories, manufacturing lines, field operations, and sustainment activities. The work includes designing and integrating object-oriented applications, libraries, and hardware drivers primarily with C#, C++, and Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows. The engineer will help define software requirements, diagnose equipment and instrumentation issues, and contribute throughout the product lifecycle alongside hardware and other engineering disciplines. The position suits an experienced software developer who is comfortable working close to test hardware and taking ownership of tasks both independently and within collaborative teams. Because the work supports defense systems, U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are essential.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years experience in software development, or Advanced degree with 3+ years experience5 years developing software applications in C, C#, C++ within test environments plus experience with Java, Python, or Visual BasicWindows Operating System and Microsoft Visual Studio expertise requiredActive and transferable Secret-level DoD security clearance prior to start; U.S. citizenship requiredExperience with test instrumentation and hardware interfaces (TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422)Preferred: Software drivers, UML, development lifecycles (Agile/Waterfall), Azure DevOps or GitHub
