Journeyman Machinist

This machinist will plan, lay out, machine, inspect, and assemble complex components used in prototypes, test equipment, tooling, and defense systems. The position supports a development and manufacturing function and requires work with both common and specialized materials, including exotic metals. Responsibilities include operating mills, lathes, grinders, and related tool-room equipment, interpreting blueprints, applying GD&T, and using Mastercam or conversational programming for precision work. It suits an experienced tool-and-die or journeyman machinist, as well as someone with an associate degree or equivalent technical training in machine tool technology. Candidates must be prepared for any assigned shift, pass a practical skills test, and qualify for required U.S. security and ATF clearances.

Requirements

Six years recent experience as Tool & Die or Journeyman Machinist, or AAS in Machine Tool TechnologyAbility to setup and operate mills, lathes, and grindersProficiency reading blueprints and applying GD&T principlesPass practical machining test within 30 days of hireObtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance and ATF clearance; U.S. citizenship requiredAbility to work any designated shift including overnight
