This position involves designing, building, and sustaining mechanical test systems used to validate Raytheon's advanced defense products in demanding environments including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, and RF testing. You'll work within the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate, a multi-discipline team responsible for creating test solutions that support weapon system verification, qualification, and production across all phases from initial design through long-term sustainment. The role requires both hands-on technical expertise in mechanical design and leadership capability, as you'll diagnose production issues, recommend improvements, and coach less experienced engineers. This opportunity suits experienced mechanical engineers who want to apply their expertise to mission-critical defense systems while developing others and staying at the forefront of advanced testing technology. The position is fully onsite in Tucson, Arizona and requires active security clearance eligibility.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 5+ years relevant engineering experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years experienceMinimum 5 years mechanical design and/or production support experienceMinimum 5 years with 3D CAD modeling tools (CREO/ProE preferred)Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Active or obtainable U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Experience creating mechanical drawings and engineering documentation
