Senior Mechanical Engineer - Test Equipment, Onsite (Tucson, AZ)

This engineer will work within Raytheon’s multidisciplinary Test Equipment Engineering organization to create mechanical and electromechanical test systems for demanding environments such as vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical testing. The position covers the complete equipment lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, verification, production support, and sustainment. The successful candidate will use 3D CAD, GD&T, drawings, and engineering documentation to produce reliable, accurate test solutions and improve designs when manufacturing or testing issues arise. Experience with packaging, environmental qualification, configuration management, model-based engineering, or analysis disciplines would be valuable. This opportunity suits an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys hands-on work, cross-functional collaboration, technical leadership, and mentoring, and who can meet U.S. citizenship and security-clearance requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 5+ years relevant engineering experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years experienceMinimum 5 years mechanical design and/or production support experienceMinimum 5 years with 3D CAD modeling tools (CREO/ProE preferred)Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Active or obtainable U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Experience creating mechanical drawings and engineering documentation
