Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) Software Engineer

IntelPhoenix, AZ$128,880.00-$211,200.00 USD annually

This engineer will support Fab 62 and campus-wide automated material handling systems through software development, testing, qualification, startup, and ongoing sustainment. The position works closely with manufacturing teams, automation groups, equipment suppliers, project managers, and the AMHS Command Center to resolve incidents and improve system performance. Responsibilities include analyzing logs and data, investigating root causes, implementing corrective actions, and supporting production readiness for new equipment and factory projects. The role includes on-call coverage and schedule flexibility because the automation infrastructure must remain highly available. It is well suited to a STEM-trained engineer with Linux, scripting, SQL, troubleshooting, and analytical experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing setting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in STEM, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or related fieldAt least 1 year of experience with Unix/Linux environmentsExperience with VB scripting, SQL queries, log analysis, or data analysisTroubleshooting and problem-solving experience, including Model-Based Problem SolvingAbility to work in a 24x7 high-availability environment and participate in on-call supportSemiconductor manufacturing, project management, or Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
