Director / MTS, Heaters and Electrostatic Chuck (ESC)

This position leads the design and qualification of advanced ESC assemblies and multi-zone heater systems used in semiconductor process tools. It covers ceramic and dielectric material selection, electrostatic performance, wafer temperature control, thermal modeling, reliability, and integration with plasma-processing hardware. The engineer will address issues such as contamination, arcing, thermal stress, and material compatibility across demanding process conditions. The role works across hardware engineering, materials, manufacturing, and equipment integration functions to deliver production-ready solutions. It is suited to an experienced semiconductor equipment professional with deep expertise in ceramics, ESC mechanisms, heaters, vacuum thermal management, and analytical problem solving.

Requirements

Master’s or PhD in materials science, ceramic engineering, or a related field10+ years in semiconductor capital equipment engineering with ESC or heater experienceExperience with 300mm wafer tools and OEM component qualificationKnowledge of ceramic fabrication, dielectric systems, and plasma chemistriesExperience with FEA thermal simulation and electrical characterization equipmentStrong failure analysis, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
