This principal-level role drives data-driven decision making across a major radar software development program by establishing metrics frameworks, automating reporting workflows, and configuring Jira systems for multi-team execution visibility. You'll partner with program management, engineering, and finance teams to align project tracking with schedule and budget objectives while training teams on metrics interpretation and tool usage. The position suits experienced software engineers who excel at bridging technical implementation with business intelligence, particularly those comfortable with both hands-on Jira configuration and strategic program-level analytics. You'll operate in a defense aerospace environment supporting complex hardware-software integration across distributed locations, requiring the ability to translate technical metrics into clear executive-level visualizations.

Requirements

8+ years experience with data collection, mining, and performance tracking on large engineering programsAdvanced Jira expertise including JQL, Structures, Rich Filters, dashboards, and multi-board configurationsProven ability to automate data extraction and reporting workflowsAbility to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship requiredStrong communication skills across engineering, program management, and finance functionsExperience with Earned Value metrics and integration of Jira data with financial/scheduling systems
