Associate General Counsel, Director - Real Estate

This attorney will join QTS’s legal function and report to the real estate Deputy General Counsel, providing counsel to acquisition, development, and business teams. Responsibilities include handling purchases and sales, financing, leasing, zoning, land use, title and insurance, easements, restrictive covenants, and incentive programs. The position coordinates internal stakeholders and outside counsel while managing multiple transactions and ensuring adherence to contracting policies. It may also address commercial, corporate, construction, financing, tax, compliance, joint venture, and litigation-related matters as business needs arise. The role suits an experienced, practical real estate lawyer who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Requirements

J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentialsAt least six years of legal experience in real estate, leasing, contract negotiation, and/or corporate lawExperience drafting and negotiating complex real estate and commercial agreementsStrong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, confidential matters, and outside counselProficiency with Microsoft Office, Box, and DocuSign; ability to learn ERP systems
