Senior Power Module Electrical Simulation Engineer

This engineer will join onsemi’s Corporate Central Engineering modeling and simulation organization in Scottsdale or San Jose. The work spans package, module, and system integration for advanced power technologies, including SiC, GaN, chiplet, and 3D-integrated solutions. Responsibilities include developing electrical, thermal, and mechanical models; evaluating switching behavior, EMI, transient power delivery, current sharing, and thermal hotspots; and supporting reliability and performance goals. The position also contributes to simulation infrastructure, digital twins, optimization, and AI-enabled modeling methods while assisting application, field, and customer teams. It suits an experienced power electronics or electrical simulation specialist who enjoys cross-functional product development, experimental correlation, and solving complex high-frequency integration problems.

Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering, electrical simulation, or physics, or a master’s degree with 3 years of experienceExperience with electrical simulation at power module, package, and system levelsKnowledge of SiC, GaN, silicon devices, switching behavior, and power lossesExperience with parasitic extraction, power integrity, electro-thermal simulation, and model-to-measurement correlationFamiliarity with SolidWorks, Unix/Linux, and ANSYS HFSS, SIwave, Q3D, Maxwell, or Electronics DesktopStrong communication, analytical, learning, and teamwork skills
