Director, Global Operations Control

Reporting to the Senior Director of the Global Operations Center, this role serves as the central operational authority across Waymo’s live markets. The director makes time-sensitive decisions during incidents, aligns global priorities with regional conditions and regulatory needs, and connects technical teams with operational leaders. They also guide executive escalations, crisis communications, governance standards, and structured recovery efforts. After major events, the role helps identify systemic risks and improve response processes and network reliability. It suits an experienced operations leader who is comfortable making high-consequence decisions in 24/7 environments, with backgrounds in areas such as aviation, emergency response, autonomous systems, or other safety-critical operations.
