Software Systems Engineer II - Quality Focus

ASMPhoenix, AZFull-time

This role centers on system-level quality assurance for software that controls complex semiconductor equipment, requiring you to think strategically about what could go wrong across entire systems rather than just testing individual features. You'll design comprehensive validation approaches, develop automation and diagnostic tooling, and collaborate with development teams to strengthen software reliability and release readiness. The position suits engineers with strong debugging skills and a systems-thinking mindset who enjoy building scalable testing infrastructure and prefer solving quality problems upstream rather than discovering them in the field. You'll bridge software development and quality assurance, using evidence-based analysis to identify root causes and prevent defects from reaching demanding industrial environments. This is an engineering partner role that values technical depth in code analysis and automation design alongside clear communication of quality risks to stakeholders.
