Journeyman Machinist

This onsite Tucson position supports Raytheon manufacturing and development operations by planning, laying out, machining, and assembling precision components, test equipment, tools, gauges, molds, dies, and fixtures. The machinist sets up and runs mills, lathes, grinders, and other conventional tool-room equipment with limited supervision while interpreting blueprints and applying GD&T requirements. Work also includes Mastercam or conversational offline programming, inspection with standard measurement equipment, and solving complex machining problems across varied materials. The position is suited to an experienced tool-and-die or journeyman machinist, or someone with qualifying machine-tool technology education and practical machining ability. Candidates must be prepared for any assigned shift, including overnight work, and must qualify for required U.S. security and ATF clearances.

Six years of recent tool-and-die or journeyman machinist experience, or an AAS in Machine Tool Technology/equivalent technical educationAbility to set up and operate conventional mills, lathes, grinders, and other tool-room machinesAbility to read and work from blueprints and apply GD&THigh school diploma or GEDPass the required practical test within 30 days of hire or promotionU.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain Secret and ATF clearances; willingness to work any shift
