Senior Software Engineer I, Applied AI

This engineer will develop core platform services, assistants, agents, and connectors that let Axon employees securely use AI with systems such as Jira, Slack, Microsoft 365, Quip, and Snowflake. They will take AI capabilities from early prototypes through deployment and ongoing operations, while improving performance, cost, observability, and resilience. The position sits within the Corporate AI team in Enterprise Data and involves close partnership with data engineering, architecture, security, governance, and business groups. It is suited to a hands-on senior software engineer who enjoys building cloud-native systems, exploring LLM technologies, and establishing practical standards for responsible AI development. Strong communicators who can translate business workflows into dependable internal tools will fit well.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experienceAt least 4 years of professional software engineering experienceProficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or JavaExperience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native servicesKnowledge of APIs, authentication, observability, CI/CD, and reliable production systemsPractical interest or experience with LLMs, AI APIs, and secure software development
