Senior Mechanical Engineer - Structural Engineer

This engineer will work within Raytheon’s Mechanical Analysis and Test organization, which provides structural and thermal engineering expertise for products throughout their lifecycle. Responsibilities include defining and performing analyses, developing validation test plans, interpreting test data, preparing technical documentation, and presenting results to internal and government customers. The position requires independent judgment on complex problems while meeting program cost and schedule commitments, along with participation in peer reviews and technical process improvement. It may also involve test-site travel and leadership of engineering teams supporting program milestones. The role suits an experienced structural analyst who can work across disciplines, use finite element tools effectively, and communicate technical conclusions clearly. An active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required before starting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ yearsExperience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, or ABAQUSCurrent, active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenshipKnowledge of classical structural mechanics and finite element analysisExperience planning and interpreting structural tests, including shock and vibration testingAbility to lead technical reviews, collaborate across disciplines, and present to customers
