Mechanical Test Engineer I

This position joins Raytheon’s Test Solutions Engineering organization, which creates reliable test equipment for defense hardware throughout development, manufacturing, field use, and sustainment. The engineer will design mechanical solutions for demanding vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical conditions, then produce detailed models and engineering drawings. Responsibilities also include integrating and validating test systems, investigating installation or production issues, and improving designs with engineering and manufacturing partners. The work may involve occasional travel within the United States, while international or extended assignments are optional. It is well suited to an early-career mechanical engineer with hands-on design or fabrication experience, strong problem-solving ability, and an interest in aerospace systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field by the start dateExperience with parametric 3D CAD modeling and mechanical assembliesMechanical design experience from coursework, projects, research, or practical workU.S. citizenship and ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearanceKnowledge of GD&T and ASME/ANSI Y14.5 preferredExperience with 3D printing or machine shop fabrication preferred
