Principal Human Factors Engineer

This principal-level engineer directs HFE and HSI strategy across one or more aerospace and defense programs, from requirements and architecture through verification and operational support. The work includes applying military human engineering standards, evaluating human hazards and performance, guiding design controls, and ensuring considerations such as usability, maintainability, training, and safety are incorporated into system decisions. The engineer serves as a senior interface with customers, government stakeholders, program leaders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, while leading working groups and technical reviews. The position also contributes to proposals, process improvement, and development of HFE/HSI staff through mentoring and technical oversight. It suits an experienced human factors, human systems integration, or safety professional who is comfortable influencing complex programs, working independently, and holding an active U.S. DoD Secret clearance.
